The European Union approved the first climate law on the plan, called the Green Deal, with its vote on June 24, 2021. According to this plan, by 2030, the European Union member states set their target to reduce their carbon emissions to zero emissions by 2050. This new order created by the European Union is as much an opportunity for companies as they are at risk. This mechanism is aimed to be implemented in 2023 with a 3-year transition period that does not impose any financial obligations. Afterwards, within the scope of combating climate change in a 50-year period, 1 Trillion Euro resources will be transferred to the private sector in the form of grants or cheap loans using financial instruments. This resource will be provided by the carbon tax regulation at the border. Our bureau recommends that SMEs start preparations by following the "Green Deal Action Plan" of the Ministry of Commerce.
